Chinese artisans created superb works that echo the shapes and motifs of antiquity but infuse into them new patterns, new functions and even new meanings.
Indeed, li, hu, jue, touhu, zun, gui, and fangding forms are from archaic ceremonial bronze vessel. The leiwen pattern, the Taotie mask design are also from bronze vessels of ancient China. By the way, Ming and Qing bronze vases, bronze incense burner, bronze waterdroppers, bronze brush stands, bronze ewers did homage to the ancient China in embracing shapes and patterns of the past.
There is a large range of patina, from black patina to light brown patina. The gold splashes of varying size and shapes look particularly attractive, gold splashes are set against a richly patinated surface.

Bronze figure of Buddha, Lama, Guanyin, are finely carved and gilded bronzes. Tibetan bronze, Nepalese bronze, and Chinese bronze offer a great number of somptuous ritual objects.
Japanese bronzes are remarkable by their veracity and by the choice of patina in order to be the most realistic, Japanese bronze animals and articulated bronze animals, from Edo and Meiji Era, are the best exemples. The famous gold and copper alloy, called in Japanese “Shakudo”, protect and decorate precious works-of-art.
